The Darkness 12: Aswang

It was one strange event that caught our attention. It was reported that a pregnant woman seen what she thought was a staggering drunk stranger as she walked to her car. She hurried, got in her car and closed the door as the person approached her. The person opened the door behind her and tried pulling her out by her legs but she pepper sprayed her attacker. The attacker, who was a woman, screamed, flailed, and run away bent backwards on her hands. A report of a similarly strange report happened the same night where a young woman was caught at the window of a child’s room. When the child’s dad heard scratching, he went the child rooms and seen the woman scratching at the window so he turned on the light and she took off. June 10 th 2020 We were still suffering from the loss of Ciara. Her presence was always a sense that everything was going to be alright as wolves or as humans. I often went to Black Eagle with the issues we couldn’t solve but he had become absent and left us t...

The Darkness 11: Fish Men (Co-Author: Jacquelyn Erler)

In our small town, it started as people were finding manhole covers all over the streets in the mornings. It was soon followed by uprooted gardens, stores raided for herbs, and family pets going missing. The mysterious events caused enough uproar in the community to demand immediate attention by us. May 20 th : Just after Dusk   Ray, Ciara, and I entered the sewers through a manhole in a residential area. I chose them to come with me while I had Cee, Audio, and C.D. patrolled the streets above. When we got to the walk way, we all looked at each other. “Whoa, that’s kinda strange.” Ray said. I looked over at him, unsure if he was being sarcastic. “What is it?” Ciara asked. “The water is clean, we are in a sewer and it doesn’t smell like waste.” he asked. Ray was right, it was surprisingly clean. In fact the air was fresh and almost completely clear of any pollutants. “Yeah, I noticed.” I answered “Are sewers normally like this?” Both Ciara and Ray shrugged to my question. ...

The Darkness 10: Chupacabra

May 5 th 2:00 P.M. I had no choice. Gina forced me to reveal myself as a werewolf to my girlfriend. The night of the summit my girlfriend, Ana, followed my phone’s signal to our meeting and Gina took advantage of her presence. Knowing that the vampires were going to go after her because of her new knowledge and direct connection to the supernatural, I was forced to turn her to a werewolf. Since that put my pack at 8, 1 more than the maximum 7, I forced to let Marie leave and join Axel’s Hybrid Pack. Since it was going to be another 5 days before the full moon I decided to question Marina about Gina’s claims. Ana, Cee, Audio and I met with Marina outside my apartment. “Do you know what’s going on?” I asked her. She has a shy smile when she answered no but the concern was clear. I sighed and told Ana to lower her collar, revealing the scar from my bite. “Wait, whoa! So you’re a werewolf now?” She asked. “Yeah.” Ana answered her question. “I had to turn her, Gina forced me to.” I ...

Left 2 Survive

Two weeks since the Green Flu had blown through and infected almost everyone. Those infected were noticed for the pathogens causing extreme aggression, mutation to the body cells, and loss of higher brain functions; turning them into zombies. With cities and towns in chaos and civilization crumbling before the world’s eyes, few of the immune were rescued by the military and the rest were left to survive. The group of survivors made it out of town and into the woods. As they traveled deeper into the woods, they came across less and less infected, and more and more trees. When it had been a long amount of time since they had ran into any zombies, they took a break. The sky was grey and the air was near frozen. The woods lingered with a dull lumber scent and all life was still except the insects and few birds overhead. “Where are we headed?” Rose asked. Rose was a 26 year old Mexican woman who had left her town to take her son to a military safe zone. She made it successfully b...

The Darkness 9: Summit

March 23rd 5:11 P.M. It was the night after the meeting with Axel and his crew. When I got home there were two beta vampires waiting for me on the steps leading up to my house. Unsure of what they wanted, I protracted my werewolf claws and readied myself. They told me they weren't there to fight or cause any problems but just to pass the message that Gina wanted to meet with me. I asked where and they told me the small industrial district on the tip of the north side of town. They also told me that she wanted it to be just her and I and she would meet me by herself. This didn't sound like a good idea but I agreed anyways. They told me to meet her at 10 P.M. by the meat packing warehouse before they stood and walked past me. It wasn't a good idea but I wanted to find out why the vampires were going to approach us the day before and this was my chance. I got on my phone and made my call. 10 P.M. That Night I waited next to the Meat Packing warehouse. It was obvious that ...

The Darkness 8: The Hive

April 1 st 3:30PM Me and my pack met at our local park to wait for the hybrid pack. While C.D., Marie, and Ray played ball; me, Cee, Audio and Ciara sat on the table and look out across the field. Half way across the park the vampires sat at their own table under the trees. There were few times our groups as a whole were close to each other and it was mostly when we convened in the park.   It made me think of how thing would be had the feud between vampires and werewolves had not started. It started Native American tribes that were plagued by night monsters. Many of them got together and decided they needed to fight back and protect themselves. With that decision, the mystic shaman from four of the biggest tribes came together and used the the power of nature magic to turn warriors of every tribe into animal shapeshifters. Bats, wolves, alligators, and scorpions respective to their village. This worked perfectly and for a while kept the creatures away, but soon the more ...

Shirinai x Darkness x Emerald's Fire: Black and White

It was night time and the war was now over. We stood staring at the full moon; I exhaled and seen my warm breath dissipate in the cold air. We continued our trek through the unburied graveyard. The battle field was littered with thousands of bloody corpses. Bodies hacked and slashed, limbs sliced off, and body parts were scattered everywhere. There were even a few horse and dog carcasses. Everything was still and silent yet still an eerie presence loomed. It was a disgustingly horrid setting. In the distant a raven cried and flew off into the sky. “Dammit, this is what it came to?” I growled lowly. “All because the princess died giving birth to twins; it’s sickening.” Kyoma replied. We walked passed one of our dead comrades; he left his pregnant wife to join the war immediately after burying his mother that had just passed on. It was a horrendous calamity. Scents of steel, flesh, and death lingered heavily in the frigid night’s air and stained our senses. The soil beneath our feet was...
