The Darkness 3: Big Foot

My group had been downed. They had caught a sickness that seemed to have targeted us. The symptoms were severe exhaustion and nausea, vomiting, pains, and occasional nose bleeds. Those of us who had it were bed ridden and couldn't leave home. None of us knew where it came from or how we caught it but the latest of my group to be affected was Audio. The only ones left were me, Cee, and C.D. Even though I had some of the slightest of some of the symptoms I was sure not to tell them. Especially with the way things were going in our town. I couldn't afford to let it get the best of me; not then or ever. There was no way the sickness should've been able to get all of us. Something wasn't right. February 11th: 10:30 P.M. Me and Cee hadn't even left our quiet neighborhood for our night patrol in the woods when we had sensed something was wrong. It was a pitch black, windy, freezing cold night filled with dense fog and no signs of life other than us. It was the bl...

Shirinai: Winds Of Change Arc 2

Due to my family's ability to speak with the dead, we were chosen to preserve the balance of life and death in the Village of Death. Because of my ability to enter purgatory and control the souls, I was given the job of traveling and helping those who weren't meant to die, and help those who had not passed, pass. This particular incident; someone was disturbing the graves of a lot of recently deceased souls. So I went to the graveyard with Kia to investigate. "Why did you bring me with you again?" Kia asked as we walked down the path in the graveyard. "Well, if you had listened in the beginning Kia there might be a Sin here." I reminded. Really, I just didn't want to tell her Gary arranged for her to come with me just yet. "How do you know?" she asked. I was going to answer but a spirit flew up from behind a grave and to me "There's someone here. We are unsure who it is but they are using a basket to 'harvest' us." It sa...

Shirinai: Winds Of Change Arc 1

It had been a week since I gave our Shirinai Bounty Hunters business over to Ren. I no longer felt fit to run the business and gave it to the most capable hands. She decided that we had to make an attempt to get Destiny back. Destiny had fallen to the control of the ninja Sins Lust and Pride on her mission three days after Ren took charge and left. Shortly we were contacted by Darki saying that she had killed 4 people and was headed southeast toward the ocean. This put us two people down since Kyoma left on his own. Ren called a meeting with me on what to do about Destiny. "I'll go get her, if there's going to be anyone that's going to be able to get her back it'll be me." I told Ren. We sat her office. "Alright, take Kia with you" Ren said "She'll make it easier for you to bring her back." "No! She's only 7, Ren. She hasn't realized that Destiny left and if we drag her into this you know it'll tear her apart. I refus...

Shirinai: Team Yoru No

"Team Yoru No." The old man breathed heavily. "You've finally made it here." he was levitating with his legs crossed over a crystal clear was built in the middle of an open roof palace. The palace sat on top of a huge mountain in the Middle East. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful setting, but an ugly reason to be there. He was old and fragile, dark brown skinned with a turban on his head. Dressed in white pants and a vest, it was a wonder how he came about owning this entire huge solid gold palace and he still looked so poor. The sky was as bright blue as the lake and the sun lit everything brilliantly. "He's not alone." Danielle said quietly. "There are three other ninjas out there, you should just come out!" She called out. Her eyes had turned from brown to grey; they stared out, focused and intense. Next to the old man from the water emerged two ninja. The one on his right was a young woman. She was short, about 5 feet tall with...

Shirinai: Behind the Winds and Rain

"I hate going back home." I told Destiny. Home meant being with my old tradition family, the reason I left. "I would say the say if I could." She replied. We were on a boat on the way to The Mist Village. Kyoma took over the mercenary business for a month so that Gary, Destiny, and I could take a break and I could attend to my own business. Never would I have thought to bring awkward company of Destiny but, I didn't see the harm. I could sense the awkward vibe we gave each other, the mist couldn't hide that. "Ms. Umi how is your ride?" asked the boat driver. "Don't call me that, call me Ren, and my last name is Jia now." I told him. He nodded, "No I didn't get married but yes the ride is okay, thank you." He nervously nodded and continued to paddle the boat. I stared out into the mist. "Why did you change your last name?" Destiny asked me. For a moment I didn't want to answer but it kinda made me feel good ...
