The Darkness 3: Big Foot

My group had been downed. They had caught a sickness that seemed to have targeted us. The symptoms were severe exhaustion and nausea, vomiting, pains, and occasional nose bleeds. Those of us who had it were bed ridden and couldn't leave home. None of us knew where it came from or how we caught it but the latest of my group to be affected was Audio. The only ones left were me, Cee, and C.D. Even though I had some of the slightest of some of the symptoms I was sure not to tell them. Especially with the way things were going in our town. I couldn't afford to let it get the best of me; not then or ever. There was no way the sickness should've been able to get all of us. Something wasn't right.

February 11th: 10:30 P.M.

Me and Cee hadn't even left our quiet neighborhood for our night patrol in the woods when we had sensed something was wrong. It was a pitch black, windy, freezing cold night filled with dense fog and no signs of life other than us. It was the black sky and fog were laid on the street purposely to hide us. We stood in the middle of the street of our silent neighborhood. The street lights flickered on and off; something they never did. The air was peaceful with the wind but there was the slightest flicker of negativity and despair every once and a while. The lights continued to flicker. A chilling breeze of something sinister blew through. We had stopped under the only streetlight that stayed on. The lights continued to flicker. There was something in the shadows. We stood back to back mesmerized by the paralyzing feeling, trying to find out what it was. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up; it was the same feeling. The feeling only came when the lights flickered off. Suddenly my nose began to drip with blood. Just as the street light closest to us went black for a second we both sensed something in the darkness. Cee turned and looked in the same direction but the lights stayed on and the feeling went away. As quick as it had came; it left. It was like it was only meant to happen for that long. Cee looked at me and frowned. I wiped the blood from nose. "Cee-" but before could finish my sentence there was a roar at the other end of the street where the woods were. We both looked down the street and our eyes never left the distance. "What the hell?" Cee murmured. The roar was familiar but there was something slightly different about it. There was a stillness in the air from the anticipation it was eerie. There was another roar from the foggy darkness; this time it was closer. A tall dark figure formed in the distance. Soon from the fog emerged the source of the roar; BigFoot.

Big Foot: the Sasquatch. We first encountered this sasquatch a few years prior while we ran training in our woods. There had always been rumors of people seeing him but we thought nothing of it. When we did finally run into him he was, unlike the other creatures of the night, docile, harmless, and even friendly. He sometimes his time was spent aiding and looking after animals in the woods his actions was almost always unknown. We coexisted peacefully. It was clear the ape wanted his peaceful presence to be a secret, so we kept it that way.

The huge muscular humanoid ape had dark brown hair, stood 10 foot tall, and striking yellow eyes. He jumped on a car and slammed both his arms down on the roof, flattening the car almost completely. His strength dwarfed anything I had ever seen. He came running down the street towards us, roaring with unparalleled rage. The roar ran fear through me. Something wasn't right with him. I looked around to see if anyone could see us "Cee, by the trashcans!" I demanded. "Aight!" He said as he ran towards some trashcans in front of a nearby house. Big Foot had almost reached me, my heart pounded through my chest, I took off running away from him. Fueled by fear I ran as fast as I could away from the raging sasquatch but it that didn't matter. It was far from long when I could hear him breathing right behind; I could feel the berserk fury of him right on my heels. My death was chasing me and there was no chance for me. I felt his huge arms raise up to slam down on me. Just as I leaped out of the way I heard Cee snarl and seen the wolf jump onto Big Foot. I hit the sidewalk and changed into my wolf form. We were lucky; the thick fog that blanketed the neighborhood hid our altercation otherwise everyone would know of our presence. As my senses heightened, it was more than apparent that something was bothering the huge ape. I knew it had something to do with the event we experienced earlier. When I returned to the street he had thrown Cee to the side and came after me; I left out a warning snarl but it didn't work. He roared back and slammed his fists on the ground. Cee joined my side and together we faced Big Foot. It seemed too surreal, the once peaceful creature who had once been our ally was now attacking us. Something was wrong with him but there was no telling what. Even in wolf form, Big Foot towered over us. Without the rest of our pack, we were outmatched. The huge ape charged and in our attempt to escape he slapped Cee away and grabbed me by the throat. His huge muscular handed squeezed and aim to crush my throat. I pawed and squirmed furiously trying to get free. His grip became tighter and breathing became harder. We met eye to eye; I realized that if he really wanted to he could crush my throat like a twig without hesitation but something was holding him back. I looked deep into is frenzied yellow eyes but seen nothing. Instinct forced me to try to change into Werewolf form but I couldn't. Panic almost overcame me but Cee jumped up and slashed the ape's arm and he released me. Me and Cee scrambled to regroup with each other. BigFoot was trying to grab and slam us; preventing us from regrouping. In the savage dodge fest, I kept on trying to shift into my werewolf form but I couldn't. Urgency and fear filled my heart, why couldn't I change? If it didn't work, we certainly would be killed. It was like trying to take down a Titan with a blessed weapon that wasn't working. We ran in circles trying dodging his attempts to grab or strike us. The sasquatch finally got fed up, roared, and ripped a medium sized tree effortlessly out of the ground. I barked at Cee who instantly shifted from wolf into his werewolf form. Big Foot tried hitting Cee with the tree but he slashed it to pieces. Before the ape could grab something else, Cee began a grappling match with him. Instantly Big Foot had the upper hand and began over taking Cee. I ran in behind them and latched onto Big Foot's neck. His warm blood filled my mouth and I sank my teeth in deeper. There was no way I was letting go. The huge beast finally overpowered Cee and tossed him aside. He grabbed me, ripping me from his neck, slammed on me on the ground, and threw me like a rag doll. I hit the ground, felt my ribs break, and I coughed up blood. I heard Big Foot roar and knew he was coming to kill me next. I struggled to get up and face my death. But by the time I got up I realized the ape hadn't come after me. The neighborhood was completely silent again.

Back up on my paws, I seen a thin figure standing in front of Big foot. The smell of fresh blood filled the air and it wasn't mine or Big Foot's. Growled and bared my teeth. The figure turned and faced me; now I managed to shift into my werewolf form. I stood on my hide legs and roared but my broken ribs forced me to revert me back into a human. Werewolf Cee came and stood over me, snarling. "You can't even hold your werewolf form? That's sad." The figure said "You're fucking up." I held my chest, the pain was unbearable. "What the hell are you doing here, Samuel? You reek of blood, leech." I growled. The thin figure was an Elite Vampire by the same of Samuel; a white guy, around our age, with long blonde hair and normally blue eyes. Big Foot stood completely still behind Samuel, who had hypnotized the sasquatch and ended our battle. "I was watching you get your ass kicked by this behemoth. What's wrong? Where are the rest of the mutts?" The vampire sneered. His black soulless eyes remained on me. I didn't answer his question but stared into his black, evil, empty eyes. It was a stand off; we were engulfed in fog, in the middle of the street but separated from the world. If Cee wanted to, he could rip Samuel to pieces with no effort but that would leave us to handle Big Foot, a battle we could not win. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity then Samuel spoke. "That's fucking sad. The dogs can't do their job. Shape up, mutts. Vampires won't be around to save your pathetic tails anymore, this was sloppy." He hissed. Cee roared and bared his teeth. The vampire laughed with that he turned and led Big Foot back into the woods. There was a sense of relief and fog seemed to let up after that. Cee reverted back into a human and looked at me "You okay, bruh?" he asked. "Yeah, I'm good." I answered. We looked around the neighborhood. "What we gon do about the mess?" He asked.
